Job description
Reporting to executive leadership, the Vice President, Commercial & Complex Claims provides strategic direction and full operational oversight for the commercial and large-loss division. Core responsibilities include:
Strategic leadership & business development
- Develop and execute growth strategies for the Commercial & Complex Claims division, establishing annual targets and forecasts in collaboration with executive leadership
- Identify opportunities to expand market share with insurers, brokers, independent adjusters, and commercial property stakeholders
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with insurance carriers, independent adjusting firms, brokers, risk managers, property managers, and commercial clients
- Represent Hudson Restoration at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
- Identify and secure new commercial and large-loss opportunities; support strategic account management initiatives
Operations & claims oversight
- Provide executive oversight on commercial and complex restoration projects from first notice of loss through completion
- Monitor project performance, timelines, budgets, and customer satisfaction; assist teams in resolving escalated issues
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, industry standards, and contractual obligations
Team & financial leadership
- Mentor and develop Project Managers, Large Loss Managers, and operational leaders; foster a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement
- Establish performance expectations, accountability measures, and participate in recruiting top industry talent
- Monitor divisional revenue, profitability, and KPIs; assist in budgeting, forecasting, and identifying opportunities to improve margins
Physical requirements and working conditions
- Monday to Friday; occasional evenings and weekends as required
- Travel throughout Ontario to client sites, offices, and industry events
Qualifications
The ideal candidate is a seasoned industry leader with deep knowledge of the insurance restoration landscape, strong relationship-building instincts, and a proven ability to drive growth and lead high-performing teams.
- Minimum 10 years of experience within the insurance restoration industry (required)
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership, director, or executive role (required)
- Strong understanding of commercial property claims, large-loss restoration, catastrophe response, and complex insurance claims
- Proven track record of business development and relationship management within the insurance sector
- Strong financial acumen, operational leadership experience, and excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Valid Ontario driver's licence (required)
- Ability to pass a background check
Assets
- Existing relationships with insurers, brokers, and independent adjusters
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar restoration projects
- IICRC certifications
- Experience with Xactimate, Dash, Encircle, or similar restoration software
- PMP, CRM, or relevant industry designation
Compensation
- $100,000 - $220,000 base + commission depending on experience
