Full job description

Law firm seeking an Accident Benefits Law Clerk to join our team. You will be responsible for providing legal and administrative assistance to the Team’s paralegal. Candidates must come with at least 1 year of experience in Personal Injury.

Responsibilities and Duties

Communicate professionally with insurance adjusters, clients, and other third parties
Prepare and submit OCF forms and other Accident Benefits documentation
Review medical records, clinical notes, assessments and other file productions
Prepare and follow up on production requests
Prepare correspondence to clients, insurers, adjusters, counsel, healthcare providers, and other parties
Proactively handle files from intake through resolution
Maintain detailed and accurate file notes, correspondence, and follow-ups
Ensure all deadlines and follow-ups are properly diarized and completed
Communicating with team members and clients to ensure that all documents are in order and the file is up to date
Perform administrative tasks, including scanning, photocopying, answering phones, scheduling meetings, and organizing documents
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Completion of Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Program is an asset
Minimum of 1-year experience as a legal assistant or law clerk in Accident Benefits Personal Injury
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining superb organizational skills
Ability to deal effectively and pleasantly at all times with colleagues, clients and 3rd parties
Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Reliable, with an excellent attendance history
Knowledge of Outlook and Word with ability to learn additional software applications with ease
Excellent interpersonal skills
Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere.
Willing to assume full ownership over all assigned work
Exude a positive attitude
Willing to learn new material
