Family Law Law Clerk (3+ Years Experience)

Location: Toronto & Mississauga, Ontario
Position: Full-Time
Salary: Starting at $70,000, with higher compensation available based on experience.

Mahdi Leite Family Law LLP is a boutique family law firm with offices in Toronto and Mississauga. We are seeking an experienced Family Law Law Clerk with a minimum of 3 years of Ontario family law experience and strong client service skills to join our growing team.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work with a dynamic, collaborative, and flexible firm that values professionalism, teamwork, and delivering practical, cost-effective solutions for our clients.

This position follows a hybrid work model, with 1-2 in-office days per week, depending on the operational needs of the firm and the requirements of the senior lawyers you are supporting.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and carry your own family law files with minimal supervision.
Assist senior lawyers with file management and litigation support as required.
Draft family law pleadings, correspondence, financial documents, and other legal materials.
Conduct legal research and prepare court-related documentation.
Answer incoming client calls in a professional and compassionate manner.
Conduct new client intake calls and gather relevant information.
Schedule consultations, client meetings, mediations, and court-related appointments.
Maintain organized electronic files and ensure deadlines are met.
Deliver exceptional client service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

A minimum of 3 years of Ontario family law experience.
Experience providing exceptional client service in a legal environment.
A strong understanding of the Ontario Family Law Rules and court procedures.
The ability to draft family law documents independently and conduct legal research.
Excellent advocacy, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, LEAP, and DivorceMate.
The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with lawyers and support staff.
A positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
A willingness to accept and implement constructive feedback for continued professional growth.
The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
