Program and Role Description: The Career Foundation operates five full suite Integrated Employment Services (IES) Centres across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), conveniently located in Etobicoke, North York, Toronto, York, and Scarborough. These centres provide job seekers with a comprehensive range of services, including career exploration, résumé and interview preparation, job search support, employer connections, and employment retention support. The Career Foundation also partners with employers that share our commitment to community hiring. Employer services include access to a diverse talent pool, support with coordinating and hosting hiring events, guidance on how to effectively coach and support new hires, and strategies to support job retention.
As a Career Success Coach, you will fulfill a pivotal role in the Progress phase of the Integrated Employment Services (IES) client journey by supporting job seekers in developing the skills, confidence, and strategies required to secure sustainable employment. This role focuses on individualized coaching, employment action planning, workshop facilitation, and structured employment preparation aligned with labour market opportunities. The Career Success Coach works closely with clients to identify employment goals, address barriers to employment, and build job search competencies through one on one coaching, workshops, and ongoing support. The role also requires close collaboration with other members of the team to ensure coordinated service delivery across all phases of the client journey. You will also be responsible for meeting ongoing individual targets relevant to your position that contribute to the team’s collective ability to meet all contractual obligations with our funder and lead clients to successful outcomes.
Position Type:
Full-time (37.5 hours per week) one-year contract with excellent potential for permanency.
Starting Salary:
The starting annual salary for this position is $57,000.00 (or $58k if the successful candidate holds a master’s degree, full bilingualism in French, or full proficiency in Sign Language).
Base Location and Travel Requirements:
This opportunity is based at The Career Foundation’s Etobicoke Employment Centre, located near Islington Avenue & Highway 401, and requires periodic travel to other locations as needed, including employer sites and other stakeholder locations. The successful candidate must be willing to work on site from the office on a full time basis. The position will also permit a hybrid schedule, allowing for one work from home day per week. The hybrid schedule is based on performance and operational requirements and is therefore subject to change at any time.

Responsibilities include:
Client Coaching, Employment Preparation, and Workshop Facilitation
Provides individualized employment coaching, supporting clients in developing clear employment goals, job search strategies, and career pathways aligned with labour market opportunities.
Develops, implements, and regularly updates individualized Employment Action Plans to ensure alignment with client needs, program requirements, and employment outcomes.
Facilitates structured workshops and group sessions related to job search strategies, résumé development, interview preparation, workplace expectations, and career development.
Develops and updates workshop materials to ensure content is current, engaging, and aligned with labour market trends and program objectives.
Supports clients in identifying strengths, transferable skills, and career interests to guide realistic and sustainable employment pathways.
Provides guidance on education pathways, skills upgrading, professional accreditation, and training opportunities.
Assists clients in navigating online job boards, employer websites, and digital application systems.
Supports clients in developing professional communication skills and workplace readiness competencies.
Encourages client engagement, motivation, and accountability throughout the employment preparation and job search process.
Identifies employment barriers and implements appropriate strategies, supports, and interventions to improve job readiness.
Collaborates with Employer Engagement & Placement Specialists to align job ready clients with suitable employment opportunities.
Builds and maintains relationships with community partners and training providers to support referrals and skill development opportunities.
Maintains required client follow ups and appointments within program timelines and updates the online case management systems accordingly.
Assesses and facilitates Employment Related Financial Supports (ERFS) to assist clients in overcoming financial barriers to employment.
Provides timely re-employment support for clients identified as unemployed at program checkpoints, facilitating their return to employment prior to the next scheduled milestone.
Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
Client Barrier Removal, Client Engagement, and Service Integration
Identifies and actively addresses client employment barriers, including skill gaps, financial constraints, confidence, mental readiness, and workplace adaptation challenges.
Maintains comprehensive, up to date knowledge of Employment Ontario services, program streams, and eligibility criteria to provide accurate and effective guidance to clients and ensure appropriate service alignment.
Supports clients in becoming job ready through targeted interventions, including coaching, referrals, and structured skill-development activities.
Maintains strong client engagement, participation, and accountability when delivering virtual and in-person services.
Monitors client progress, participation, and outcomes to ensure continuous progression toward employment readiness.
Applies effective and ongoing coaching techniques to support clients’ behavioural change, confidence building, and workplace readiness.
Collaborates with internal team members to ensure coordinated and seamless service delivery across all phases of the IES model.
Contributes to individual and team performance targets related to client progression, employment outcomes, and job placements.
Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
Administration and Data Management
Documents all coaching sessions, service activities, employment progress, and outcomes within online case management systems, ensuring all records are accurate, up-to-date, meet funder-mandated reporting and compliance requirements, and are audit-ready.
Utilizes internal systems to support accurate client tracking, service planning, and reporting.
Ensures all documentation meets program compliance standards, audit requirements, and funder expectations.
Tracks client participation, milestones, and employment outcomes to support program reporting and performance management.
Completes documentation checklists and contributes to internal audits and quality assurance processes.
Communicates with team members to ensure documentation is complete, consistent, and accurate across systems.
Maintains strict confidentiality of client and employer information in accordance with privacy and security protocols and policies.
Provides reports to management, as assigned, related to service delivery and client outcomes.
Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications/ Skills Required:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Career Services, Counselling, Social Services, Psychology, or another related field relevant to the position’s duties is highly preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Certified Career Development Practitioner (CCDP) designation is considered a strong asset.
Minimum of two years’ experience in employment services, vocational counselling, career coaching, case management, or other directly transferable experience related to the position’s responsibilities is required.
Demonstrated track record of facilitating workshops and group-based sessions with high engagement and participation rates.
Strong career coaching and motivational interviewing skills with demonstrated experience supporting individuals facing barriers to employment.
Proven track record in a results driven environment, with experience meeting targets.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate information. Fluency in a second language is considered an asset.
Experience supporting individuals facing barriers to employment and working within government funded employment programs is considered an asset.
Highly organized and able to manage a caseload of clients at various levels of employment readiness.
Exceptional relationship building skills, with a proven ability to develop rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds and a range of stakeholder groups.
Demonstrated understanding of workplace expectations, employment standards, and employer practices.
High emotional intelligence, demonstrating patience, empathy, and connection when working with clients of varying experiences, needs, and abilities.
Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to uphold the organization’s service standards, policies, and core values.
High ethical and confidentiality standards, with proven experience handling sensitive information and demonstrating tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and achieve targets and objectives.
Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies and systems. Prior experience using case management systems (e.g., FFAI, CaMS) is considered a strong asset.
Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, during peak periods when required.
Strong work ethic, with the ability to multitask while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.
Demonstrated ability to remain flexible and resilient, adapting quickly to changing priorities while maintaining trust and positive working relationships.
