WORKING HOURS: Mondays to Fridays from 7:00AM to 3:30PM
POSITION SUMMARY
This is an entry-level position involving basic welding and fabrication tasks. The role will also support daily warehouse operations and contribute to the efficient functioning of the warehouse.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are NOT limited to the following:
- Basic welding of brackets for field use.
- Precision in measuring and cutting materials using various tools in preparation for fabrication.
- Using steel bandsaw, punch machine, drill press and steel cold cut saw to prepare the materials.
- Some painting of parts fabricated.
- Perform quality control checks during welding to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
- Work to specified target schedules per job.
- Complete physical re-stocking of bunks/shelves with materials used for fabrication.
- Ensure organization and proper storage of warehouse/welding stock.
- Loading and unloading of various warehouse materials.
- Conduct warehouse housekeeping duties.
- Adopt a preventative approach to ensure a safe and clean warehouse operation.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working with heavy tools and equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 1 – 2 years of welding experience and/or Welding License is an asset. Training will be provided.
- Familiar with welding techniques, concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Attention to details, organization skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities.
- Good work ethic is a must and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must have work shoes/boots in good condition.
WORKING AT A LAKESIDE LOCATION
- Flexibility is key; applicants should be open to working voluntary and mandatory extra hours and willing to work at a fast pace.
- Stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 8-10 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
- Noise levels vary; hearing protection is available.
- Ability to be on the move for your whole shift. Shifts will include a combination of standing in one place for extended periods and walking around the facility.
- Lift up to 22 kilograms /49 pounds.
- Must be proficient at using wrenches and hand tools
