About Avion Technologies Inc.
Avion Technologies Inc. is an AS9100-registered precision manufacturing company located in Mississauga, Ontario, supporting the aerospace, defence, and nuclear industries.
As our organization continues to grow, we are looking for a proactive and highly organized HR & Recruitment Coordinator to take ownership of day-to-day Human Resources activities and support our ongoing workforce growth.
This is not a purely administrative HR position. We are looking for someone who is resourceful, comfortable actively recruiting and approaching candidates, and capable of managing multiple HR functions independently.
The Role
The successful candidate will become the primary internal resource for day-to-day HR activities at Avion.
A major focus of this position will be recruitment and talent sourcing. You will proactively identify and approach candidates through Indeed, LinkedIn, industry networks, and other sourcing channels—particularly for skilled manufacturing, engineering, quality, technical, and leadership positions.
You will also coordinate employee onboarding, benefits and RRSP administration, employee documentation, performance reviews, immigration-related processes, and other internal HR requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage recruitment activities for open positions from initial posting through candidate selection and onboarding.
- Actively source candidates through Indeed, LinkedIn, resume databases, industry networks, referrals, and direct outreach.
- Identify and approach passive candidates working within aerospace, precision manufacturing, CNC machining, quality, engineering, and related industries.
- Conduct initial candidate screening and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates for current and anticipated positions.
- Work with management to understand upcoming workforce requirements and forecast future hiring needs.
- Research new sourcing methods and talent pools for difficult-to-fill technical positions.
- Support international recruitment when qualified candidates cannot be readily sourced locally.
- Coordinate overseas candidate searches and assist with recruitment activities related to LMIA-supported positions.
HR Administration & Employee Management
- Manage employee records, personnel files, employment documentation, and HR correspondence.
- Coordinate the complete new-hire onboarding process, including employment documentation, policies, benefits enrollment, orientation requirements, and internal setup.
- Maintain accurate employee information and ensure required documentation remains current.
- Prepare employment letters, internal HR documentation, policy acknowledgements, and other employee-related correspondence.
- Support management with day-to-day employee matters and HR inquiries.
- Track probationary periods, employee milestones, performance reviews, and other HR deadlines.
- Coordinate employee offboarding and required documentation.
Performance Management
- Coordinate and administer quarterly and annual employee performance reviews.
- Ensure reviews are completed on schedule and properly documented.
- Maintain performance review records and track follow-up actions.
- Work with management to continuously improve internal performance management processes.
Benefits & RRSP Administration
- Take ownership of the administration of the company's employee group benefits and RRSP programs.
- Coordinate new enrollments, employee changes, terminations, and general employee inquiries.

- Maintain accurate records and ensure employee changes are communicated to providers in a timely manner.
Immigration & International Recruitment Coordination
- Coordinate the company's LMIA-related recruitment and application processes.
- Maintain recruitment documentation and records required to support LMIA applications.
- Assist in identifying qualified overseas candidates for positions where international recruitment is required.
- Coordinate immigration-related employee documentation and timelines.
- Work closely with the company's external immigration lawyer on LMIA, OINP, work permit, and other employer-supported immigration matters.
- Collect and organize required employer and employee documentation and ensure applications and supporting information are provided within required timelines.
- Maintain organized records of ongoing immigration applications and important expiry/renewal dates.
HR Processes & Compliance
- Maintain and improve internal HR procedures, forms, templates, and employee documentation.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and employee programs.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
- Help ensure company HR practices remain organized and consistent with applicable Ontario employment requirements.
- Support management with additional HR initiatives as the organization continues to grow.

- Practical experience with recruitment and candidate sourcing.
- Experience using Indeed and LinkedIn to actively identify and approach candidates.
- Comfortable conducting candidate outreach and communicating with both active and passive candidates.
- Experience with employee onboarding, HR documentation, benefits administration, and performance reviews.
- Exposure to LMIA, OINP, work permits, or employer-supported immigration processes is a strong asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of discretion when handling confidential employee information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned HR responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is proactive rather than reactive.
The ideal candidate will not simply wait for resumes to arrive after posting a position. They should be comfortable researching competitors and relevant industries, identifying qualified individuals, reaching out directly to potential candidates, and continuously developing a talent pipeline.
You should also be comfortable becoming the internal point person who keeps HR activities organized—from recruiting and onboarding through benefits, employee documentation, performance reviews, and immigration coordination.
Experience working in a manufacturing or technical environment would be particularly valuable, as many of our recruitment requirements involve specialized positions within CNC machining, aerospace manufacturing, engineering, quality, and operations.
