Position Overview
The Inclusion & Pedagogy Facilitator is an embedded, proactive role designed to strengthen inclusive practice, build educator capacity through side-by-side mentoring, and support families through collaborative, relationship-based engagement. This role focuses on preventative, pattern-based support rather than reactive intervention.
Daily Rhythm: 30 hours protected in-program. Remaining 7.5 hours planning/prep, internal meetings, documentation and family engagement.
Role Structure & Protected Time
This role includes both non-ratio (protected) and in-ratio (program support) responsibilities.
This time is dedicated to:
- Observation and reflection
- Educator mentorship and support
- Individualized planning for children
- Collaboration with Resource Consultants and families
- Documentation and follow-up
This time is protected and not to be routinely used for staffing coverage, except in urgent or unforeseen circumstances.
In-Ratio / Program Support Time
This includes:
- Supporting classrooms as needed
- Modeling inclusive and responsive practices
- Building relationships with children and educators
- Stepping into ratio where appropriate

Role Overview
The Inclusion and Pedagogy Facilitator is a relational leadership role within the Centre.
You will work alongside educators to:
- Deepen inclusive and responsive practice
- Support children with additional needs
- Strengthen team capacity through modeling and reflection
- Embed Indigenous ways of knowing, being, and doing into daily practice
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside educators to support inclusive, responsive, and culturally grounded practices
- Support children with additional needs through observation, co-regulation, and individualized approaches
- Provide in-the-moment mentorship, modeling, and guidance to educators
- Collaborate with Resource Consultants and external supports
- Support curriculum implementation aligned with Indigenous pedagogies, the Centre’s program statement and Early Learning Bundle.
- Assist educators in adapting environments and experiences
- Participate in documentation, reflection, and team discussions
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and responsive learning environment
- Adhere to all licensing, health and safety, and Centre policies
- Support program operations when needed, while maintaining the integrity of the role
Core Responsibilities
1. Inclusive Practice & Support Systems
- Maintain oversight of children requiring additional support
- Collaborate with external partners and attend meetings
- Translate recommendations into classroom strategies
- Support early identification of needs
- Guide implementation of preventative and inclusive approaches
2.Pedagogical Mentorship & Knowledge Mobilization
- Work side-by-side with educators in classrooms
- Model responsive, relational, and co-regulated practice
- Support real-time reflection and decision-making
- Translate theory into practice
- Use declarative, non-judgmental language in coaching
- Strengthen educator confidence and capacity
- Lead CQI plan
- Collaborate on building annual GICCFC training plan
Maintaining leadership of Mehrit Centre Training
3. Observation, Documentation & Referrals
- Guide educators in meaningful documentation
- Ensure documentation precedes referrals
- Monitor implementation of support plans
- Track consistency across classrooms
- Strengthen evidence-based referral processes
4.Family Engagement & Support
- Act as a consistent and trusted point of contact for families
- Support communication between educators, leadership, and external partners
- Provide accessible and culturally responsive resources
- Support families navigating additional supports
5. Pattern Recognition & Program Development
- Identify trends across classrooms (monthly pulse checks)
- Bring insights to leadership and staff discussions
- Support reflective practice and team learning
- Contribute to ongoing program quality improvement, morale staff culture
6.Collaboration Across Roles
- Work in alignment with Floor Lead to ensure practice and operations are connected
- Collaborate with Culture & Language Facilitator to embed cultural practices meaningfully
- Support Team Leads in strengthening educator practice within rooms
- Maintain clear communication to avoid duplication or role confusion
- Other duties as assigned that fit in the role
Monthly Deliverable:
Provide a monthly overview including active support plans, referrals in progress, patterns identified, environmental trends, family engagement highlights, and emerging professional learning needs.
Conditions of Employment
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
- Up-to-date immunization and health requirements
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Completion of required policies and training
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Experience:
- Early childhood education: 5 years (required)
- Resource Consultant: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (required)
- Resource Consultant Certificate (equivalencies accepted) (preferred)
