Canpro Security is actively hiring reliable and professional Security Guards to join our growing team. We are seeking dedicated individuals to provide security services across our active sites in Brantford, Hamilton, and the Niagara Region.

POSITION DETAILS
Job Title: Security Guard
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Contract
Locations: Brantford, ON | Hamilton, ON | Niagara Region, ON
Reports To: Site Supervisor / Operations Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and patrol assigned construction sites, commercial properties, and client locations
- Control access to sites — verify credentials and log visitor/contractor entries and exits
- Conduct regular foot patrols to detect and deter unauthorized access, vandalism, or theft
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies; contact emergency services when required
- Prepare accurate and detailed written incident and daily activity reports
- Enforce client site rules and Canpro Security protocols at all times
- Maintain a visible, professional security presence to deter potential threats
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and the public in a courteous manner
- Operate security equipment including cameras, access control systems, and body-worn cameras
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory Requirements
- Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (Ministry of the Solicitor General)
- Must own a reliable personal vehicle with a valid Ontario driver's licence — travel between Brantford, Hamilton, and Niagara Region is required
- Must be fluent in English (spoken and written) — clear communication with clients, team members, and the public is essential
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field
- First Aid / CPR certification
- Experience working construction site security
- Proficiency with written reporting and basic computer/tablet use
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment under pressure
WORK CONDITIONS
- Shift work including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions — must be comfortable working outside year-round
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and patrolling
- Required to be physically fit and alert throughout shifts
- Travel required across Brantford, Hamilton, and Niagara Region sites — personal vehicle is mandatory
