Full job description

Overview
We are looking for a reliable licensed heavy equipment technician to keep our ever growing fleet moving and steadily reliable. We have over 30 pieces of machinery and the candidate must be able to work on a variety of equipment brands, from John Deere to CAT to Volvo, etc… The chosen person will be ready to get their hands dirty to diagnose each problem, source out the most cost effective way to repair and have the ability to complete the repair in the most time efficient manner. Service and repairs will occur within our heated shop, as well as in the field when needed. This position would also hold the accountability and responsibility to manage all preventative maintenance for each piece of equipment.

Qualifications we are looking for:

-Licensed as a 421A heavy equipment technician

-3 years of proven experience

-Valid G license with a clean driving abstract (DZ and AZ are an asset)

-Able to lift 50 pounds

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using schematics and diagnostic tools
Conduct welding, assembly, and disassembly of components as needed for repairs or upgrades
Operate power tools and hand tools safely to complete maintenance tasks
Assist with the installation and calibration of new equipment or systems
Conduct heavy lifting and manual labor as required for equipment servicing or replacement
Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents during maintenance activities
Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and parts used for each piece of equipment
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance schedules

Skills

Proven experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, graders, backhoes, rock trucks, or similar machinery
Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair or industrial maintenance
Familiarity with dealership service procedures is a plus
Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
Experience working with farm machinery, HVAC systems, or other industrial equipment is an asset
Proficiency in welding, assembly, and use of power tools and hand tools
Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to perform electrical repairs is preferred
Ability to lift heavy loads safely and work in physically demanding environments
Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong customer service orientation when interacting with internal teams or clients
Prior experience in maintenance roles within automotive repair or industrial settings is highly desirable
