About the Position We are looking for a professional, compassionate, and motivated Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our medical clinic team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent patient care while supporting the clinical and administrative operations of the clinic. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, has strong communication skills, and is interested in developing their knowledge of ECGs and cardiac monitoring.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities Perform 12-lead ECGs accurately and efficiently. Set up, apply, and remove Holter monitors and other cardiac monitoring equipment. Provide patients with clear instructions regarding Holter monitor use and care. Download and prepare Holter monitoring data according to clinic procedures. Develop a basic understanding of ECG interpretation, including recognition of normal rhythms and common abnormalities. Obtain and document patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, height, and weight when required. Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians and clinical staff as needed. Maintain patient comfort, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times. Recognize and promptly report concerning patient symptoms or clinical findings to the appropriate healthcare professional. Follow infection-control, cleaning, and equipment-maintenance procedures. Ensure examination rooms and clinical areas are clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Patient Care & Communication Greet patients in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner. Provide exceptional patient service throughout the patient’s visit. Communicate clearly with patients regarding appointments, procedures, preparation instructions, and follow-up. Demonstrate patience, empathy, and professionalism when dealing with patients who may be anxious or uncomfortable. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals. Handle patient concerns appropriately and escalate issues when necessary.
Administrative Responsibilities Answer and manage incoming telephone calls. Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments. Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and clinical information. Verify patient information and maintain accurate electronic medical records. Process referrals, requisitions, forms, and medical documentation. Fax, scan, upload, and organize medical records and reports. . Qualifications & Skills Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Unit Clerk, ECG Technician, or in a similar healthcare role is an asset. Experience performing ECGs and/or Holter monitoring is strongly preferred. Willingness and ability to learn basic ECG interpretation and cardiac rhythms. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and patient-service skills. Professional, friendly, and approachable demeanor. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy clinical environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
