Overview

Join our vibrant team as a Dive Instructor and Sales Associate, where your passion for the ocean and teaching will inspire others to explore the underwater world! In this dynamic role, you’ll lead engaging diving experiences for guests of all skill levels while also providing exceptional customer service to promote our dive shop’s offerings. Your enthusiasm, teaching skills, and love for swimming will create memorable adventures and help grow our community of diving enthusiasts. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to combine your love of the water with a rewarding sales role in a lively, supportive environment.

Duties

Lead safe, fun, and educational scuba diving lessons and guided dives for individuals and groups of varying experience levels
Ensure all participants understand safety procedures, equipment use, and diving techniques through clear, enthusiastic instruction
Assist customers in selecting diving gear, accessories, and training packages that meet their needs and skill levels
Promote our dive courses, equipment rentals, and retail items to maximize customer engagement and sales opportunities
Maintain safety standards by conducting pre-dive equipment checks and monitoring divers throughout their underwater experience
Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering guidance, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
Keep accurate records of training sessions, sales transactions, and equipment inventory to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

Proven experience in teaching or instructing diving activities with a focus on safety and engagement
Strong cold-water diving skills with the ability to teach the PADI Drysuit Diver Specialty course.
Excellent communication skills to effectively teach new skills and connect with customers from diverse backgrounds
Enthusiastic attitude with a passion for ocean exploration and educating others about marine environments
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining high energy levels throughout shifts
Certification as a scuba instructor (PADI Open Water Instructor) is highly preferred
Prior sales or customer service experience is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided
