Strength Coach / Kinesiologist & Professional Training Coach (Personal Trainer)

Full-Time | $28.00 - $45.00 per Hour

For nearly 30 years, Innovative Fitness has been Canada's premier destination for personalized training, health optimization, and longevity-focused coaching. We are seeking passionate coaches to join our Kitsilano team and help members move better, feel stronger, and perform at their best.

We welcome applications from qualified Personal Trainers, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, and Kinesiologists. Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Kinesiology, active BCAK registration, CSCS certification, and/or graduate-level (masters) education in exercise science, kinesiology, rehabilitation, or related fields.

The Opportunity

As a Professional Training Coach, your primary responsibility is delivering exceptional 55-minute personal training sessions built around evidence-based coaching and individualized programming.

You will help members improve strength, mobility, body composition, performance, health, and overall quality of life while contributing to a supportive, professional, and team-oriented coaching environment.

In addition to personal training, qualified practitioners may have opportunities to participate in our IF Health and Active Rehabilitation services.

Please Note: Only coaches holding one or more of the following credentials will be eligible to independently conduct Advanced Assessments and IF Health testing:

Registered Kinesiologist (BCAK)
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
Master's Degree or higher in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Rehabilitation, Human Performance, or related field

Primary Responsibilities

Design and deliver high-quality, individualized personal training programs
Conduct engaging and professional 55-minute coaching sessions
Build strong relationships and accountability with members
Track member progress and outcomes using digital coaching platforms
Collaborate with fellow coaches to deliver a premium member experience
Maintain accurate records and communication through WellnessLiving, Google Workspace, and Slack
Contribute positively to studio culture and member retention

Advanced Assessment & IF Health Responsibilities (Qualified Practitioners Only - BCAK, CSCS, etc)

Coaches meeting Advanced Assessment qualifications may participate in:

VO2 Max Testing
Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Testing
Movement, Mobility, and Functional Assessments
Strength, Power, and Work Capacity Profiling
Health Optimization Score Tracking
Active Rehabilitation Programming
ICBC and Return-to-Function Support Programs
Collaboration with health professionals, nutrition coaches, and rehabilitation partners

Preferred Certifications & Specializations

Additional consideration will be given to candidates holding certifications or experience in:

FST (Fascial Stretch Therapy)
Pre/Post Natal Training
Women's Health & Performance
Corrective Exercise
Active Rehabilitation
High Performance Sport

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Personal Training Certification from a recognized organization
CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Minimum 1 year of coaching, personal training, or strength & conditioning experience
Comfortable using digital workplace and coaching platforms

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology or related field
Active BCAK Registration
CSCS Certification
Master's Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Rehabilitation, or related field
Experience in assessment, rehabilitation, or performance testing
