Duz Cho Construction is a rapidly growing heavy civil contractor with offices and operations in Northern BC and Alberta. We are looking for a full-time Caterpillar 793 Haul Truck Driver to join our dynamic team! Our company culture is employee-first, with an emphasis on families and teamwork. Duz Cho is a 100% Indigenous owned company, with ownership belonging to McLeod Lake Indian Band. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of local Indigenous communities. They must have demonstrated experience in applying Indigenous knowledge in a professional setting, adhering to cultural protocols, and working with a culturally safe approach. Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) Calls to Action and a commitment to advancing reconciliation are essential.

Duties:
Operate haul trucks to transport and /or stockpile raw materials, like blast rock from Mine Pit to various Stockpile locations. Maneuver haul truck into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading units and unloading units. Performs daily safety and maintenance checks. Maintain and turn in daily records of loads hauled and equipment inspections. Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources. Operate haul trucks in a safe and effective manner to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life. Clean truck cab daily. Maintain the haul truck and advise supervisor of any requirement for maintenance or repairs. Report any damage immediately to supervisor. Use the haul truck for its intended purpose with little or no assistance. Ensure trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored. Help identify hazardous conditions on the job site. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
At least two years of experience on off Road Articulated Rigid Frame Dump Trucks (777/ 785 / 793 / 789) Equipment safety.
Skills, knowledge, and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability maintain truck/equipment and follow related procedures. Ability to adjust the controls of a haul truck quickly and repeatedly to an exact position. Ability to see details at a distance and close range. Ability to judge the distance between you and other objects. Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand. Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to work independently or as a team member successfully. Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Ability to meet project schedule with dependability and consistency. Ability to function daily without your cellphone, absolutely no cellphones allowed on site. Ability to wear protective clothing. Ability to successfully complete a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol test. Norcat Training will be provided.
Schedule 12 Hour Shifts 7 days on, followed by 7 days off, followed by 7 days nights 7
days off Travel & Accommodation Bus transportation will be provided from Chetwynd to Tumbler Ridge if required. Accommodation will be provided in Tumbler Ridge if required. As a result, no LOA, travel or truck charges will be required.
Wage $38.00 - $42.00 / hr for fully qualified Operator however qualification to be demonstrated and signed off
Pay: $38.00-$42.00 per hour
