Position Title: Chef de Partie

Reports To: Executive Chef (supervised by Head Chef)

Location: Tweedsmuir Park Lodge

Schedule: 14 days on, 7 days off (approximately)

Terms: Seasonal Full-Time (Summer/Fall 2026)

We provide world-class skiing in the winter and connect our guests with incredible wilderness adventures in the summer. Our summer operation at Tweedsmuir Park Lodge welcomes travellers to the Great Bear Rainforest, offering an all-inclusive wilderness experience with guided adventures such as river drifts, alpine hikes, cultural experiences, and exceptional wildlife viewing. The on-site Split Rock Restaurant also serves both lodge guests and walk-in visitors, featuring locally inspired cuisine with much of its produce sourced from nearby farms.

Job Description

We are looking for an exceptional culinary leader to add their creativity, passion, and talents to our team. The Chef de Partie will assist the Head Chef in delivering a culinary program set to impress even the most discerning clients. We are a small culinary team, therefore no duty or task related to running a kitchen is off the table (washing dishes, cleaning, prep, etc).

Candidates must thrive in a dynamic working environment, be hardworking, like meeting new people, and be highly skilled at creating delicious and healthy meals. Working here is a lifestyle, and candidates must enjoy working in an intimate and remote environment.

Duties include supporting all aspects of planning, ordering, provisioning, stowing, and preparing meals and snacks for both guests and employees in a remote environment.

Main Pillars of the Chef de Partie Role

Station Ownership & Execution

Take responsibility for a designated section of the kitchen (breakfast, lunch, or dinner service). Ensure all dishes are prepared and executed to consistent standards, with attention to timing, quality, and presentation.

Consistency & Quality Standards

Maintain high culinary standards across all dishes served. Ensure recipes are followed accurately and plated consistently, reflecting the expectations of a high-end lodge environment.

Team Collaboration & Support

Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations. Support fellow team members across all areas of the kitchen when needed, contributing to a cohesive and efficient workflow.

Adaptability & Work Ethic

Operate effectively in a dynamic, remote kitchen environment where priorities can shift quickly. Take initiative, remain flexible, and contribute wherever needed—including prep, cleaning, and service support.

Guest Experience & Hospitality Mindset

Approach all work with a guest-first mindset, ensuring meals contribute positively to the overall lodge experience. Maintain professionalism and awareness in all guest-facing interactions.

Qualifications

A Must:

Red Seal or equivalent experience.
Food Safe Level 1.
Embody well-rounded culinary skills.
Highly skilled with preparation, presentation and plating.
Sound knowledge of baking, butchery, and cooking in a variety of themes.
Strong time and inventory management skills with high tolerance for being flexible.
Enjoy assisting with creative menu planning, as meals are prepared and served to the same guests over a multi-day stay.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on guest service at all times. This position requires significant social interaction with both guests and coworkers. Personal presentation and professionalism are key.
Proven ability to manage stress and handle adversity. Candidates must be able to follow orders and change plans quickly.
Able to work away from home and work long hours.
Must either be a Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen.

Preferred:

Knowledge of wine pairing.
Experience working in a remote lodge environment.
