General Worker (Meat Wrapper / Packer / Front-End)

Pay: From $20.00/hour (based on experience)

For over 50 years, Gunter Brothers Meat Co. has been a family-owned butcher shop rooted in the Comox Valley, proudly supporting farmers and ranchers across Vancouver Island.

What You’ll Do

Wrap, label, and package meat products with accuracy and care
Maintain clean, organized, and efficient workstations
Assist with basic processing tasks and daily production flow
Support front-end customer service when needed (greeting customers, answering questions, handling orders)
Ensure all products meet our quality standards before leaving the shop
Help with general shop duties (cleaning, organizing, restocking)
Work collaboratively with the team to keep operations running smoothly

What We’re Looking For

Strong work ethic and attention to detail
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, refrigerated environment
Physically capable (heavy lifting, being on your feet for extended periods)
Reliable, punctual, and accountable
A team-first mindset with respect for others

Previous experience in food service, retail, agriculture, or production environments is an asset—but not required. We’re happy to train the right people

Assets (Required)

Basic English
Class 5 driver’s license

Assets (Nice to Have)

Food Safe certification
Customer service experience
WorkSafeBC training
