Join our team of leading Registered LPN Nurses at Gemstone Care Centre and experience something new! With provincially leveled wages compensation is competitive and starting at $31.98 and $40.21 based on designation. We currently have openings in full time and part time positions. Gemstone Care Centre is a beautiful, long term care home with lots of natural light, very cozy surroundings and overlooks the Thompson River in Kamloops. We are a special team who loves what we do and we like to have fun whenever we can. We love our homelike feel that is beautiful and filed with natural light, cozy surroundings and all the latest technology to make your job easier.

We care about your wellbeing while at the bedside and our workloads support you to do your very best work. Our Nurse Team Leaders have a nurse to resident ratio of 1:30. Our home is set-up so each neighborhood cares for 30 residents and is supported by 1 NTL, 4 HCA’s and 1 recreation staff to facilitate the fun so you should never feel alone when at work. We are committed to supporting your growth as a nurse through opportunities for leadership/talent management education.

As the successful candidate, you are aligned with our values, can multi skill well and have exceptional communication skills. In addition, your interests, skills and education include:

ü Current certifications required and maintained including practicing registration with BCCNM, FOODSAFE certificate and CPR certificate (Type A, C, or HCP).

ü Current WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level I Certificate

ü Experience working with seniors with complex care needs in a health care facility.

ü Post graduate courses and/or certification in Gerontology an asset or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

ü Demonstrated ability to promote and deliver a person-centred, social model of care. Possesses maturity and temperament to work with complex care residents and families.

ü Ability to plan, set priorities, and manage duties.

ü Ability to act as a role model in creating a collaborative and harmonious workplace including conflict resolution. Ability to problem solve interdependently and independently as required.

ü Must be in good health, physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand and walk as required to perform the duties of the position and meet Provincial immunization and tuberculosis regulations.
