Hourly Wage: $27 - $31.5 per hour

Job Type: Part-time (Flexible Hours)

Mermi Music Academy is a modern, vibrant music school located in the heart of North Vancouver, easily accessible by public transit. We offer a warm, cozy, and fully-equipped teaching environment where teamwork is key. Our teachers are part of our school family, and we regularly host fun events and recitals, making our academy an exciting and rewarding place to work. We are seeking a passionate and energetic Piano Teacher with vocal skills to join our team and bring their love for teaching to our students.

What We’re Looking For:

We are looking for a talented female piano teacher who can incorporate some vocal training into piano lessons. If you are passionate about music, love working with children, and have the following qualifications, we’d love to hear from you:

Experience: At least 4 years of teaching experience, with knowledge of both European and Canadian music education styles.
Passion for Teaching: You genuinely enjoy teaching kids (ages 4+), have great patience, and excel at creating a fun, interactive learning environment.
Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative work culture and are open to training to align with our academy's teaching standards.
Language Skills: Strong English speaking and communication skills are essential.
Tech Skills: Ability to work with computers and our school management software.
Background Check: A police background check is required.
Performance: Willingness to perform at our music events.
Energetic & Engaged: We prefer teachers who are active and dynamic in their teaching approach, including off-the-bench activities and hands-on lessons.

Responsibilities:

Develop lesson plans tailored to individual student needs and learning styles.
Teach piano techniques, music theory, and performance skills to students of all ages.
Foster a positive and encouraging classroom atmosphere.
Regularly assess student progress and provide feedback for improvement.
Collaborate with parents to discuss progress and address concerns.
Organize recitals and performances to showcase student achievements.
