DIRECTOR, ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE
($127,112 - $149,543 Annually) - salary offered commensurate with education, experience and internal parity
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategy, Governance & Architecture, the Director, Enterprise Architecture serves as the BC Housing’s principal enterprise architect and strategic technology steward, leading the Enterprise Architecture Practice, including Business, Data, Technology and Application Architects, as well as contractors and subject matter experts supporting architecture activities. He/She/They defines, develops, implements, and maintains a comprehensive enterprise architecture and IT strategy that supports BC Housing’s business objectives and technology requirements. The position also develops multi-year enterprise architecture roadmaps, collaborates with business and IT leaders to identify cross-portfolio opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and innovation, and leads the Solutions Engineering Team ensuring solution design, development standards, and enterprise architecture remain tightly aligned.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Extensive experience in Information Technology with considerable demonstrated experience in an Enterprise Architecture role.\
-
Considerable experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale IT projects and architectures, with track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering successful technology solutions.
-
Sound experience in managing, mentoring, and leading a team of architects.
-
Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the employer.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Extensive knowledge of the application of TOGAF in its four key domains, methodologies, and practices
-
Extensive understanding of business process modelling and optimization techniques
-
Considerable knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications, data management, and data protection principles, particularly in the context of the BC Public Sector
-
Sound knowledge of IT service management practices, including ITIL, cybersecurity practices, risk management, and how they intersect with enterprise architecture
-
Sound knowledge of modern and emerging technology trends, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data, DevOps, and Agile
-
Working knowledge of leading Enterprise Architecture Management tools

Excellent project management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely
-
Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical rightsholders

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and analytically about complex business and technical challenges
-
Good consultative, facilitation, consensus building, conflict resolution and negotiation skills

Ability to analyze and evaluate architecture and identify areas for improvement and innovation

Ability to drive, coach and motivate staff in a team environment

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and all levels of staff
