Job Description
We are seeking a engineering Co-op Student to join our Forensic Engineering team. This is a unique opportunity for a driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the team. The ideal person for this role will need to have a strong grasp of Forensic Engineering while being flexible and a strategic thinker. This candidate will take on a variety of tasks to deliver support on equipment loss assessment matters ranging from desktop reviews to multi-million-dollar, complex technology claims. Job Responsibilities

Attend sites to conduct investigations, inspections, measurements, and photographic documentation.

Collect and deliver designated substance samples to testing laboratories.

Inspect construction work and site conditions against company drawings and specifications.

Develop, model, detail, and annotate buildings and structural systems using Company software.

Assist with the design, review, and analysis of structural and building code-related systems.

Manage project schedules, documentation, and deliverables.

Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, municipal officials, and building owners.

Supervise and support junior staff and project team members.

Prepare technical reports, drawings, and project documentation.

Participate in professional development activities to maintain and expand technical knowledge.

Develop and update company standards, procedures, and best practices.

Attend industry events, conferences, and training programs.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
-
Currently enrolled in 3rd, or 4th year of mechanical engineering degree program

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and strong mechanical aptitude to interpret engineering design, drawings and specifications.

Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in clear language.

Demonstrated time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently

Proficiency in using the full suite of Microsoft Office products and strong presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels

Excellent attention to detail.

Able to travel to sites when necessary

Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $23.00 CAD per hour. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, scope of role, management responsibility, etc.
