Full job description

3rd Level Industrial Millwright Apprentice

Must be ready to write the 433A Certification Exam

Location: Burlington, ON

Compensation:

3rd Level Apprentice: Base + Average Production Bonus = $42.00 – $43.00 / hr
Upon Licensing: Transitions to starting Millwright rate = approx. $46.89 / hr (Base + Avg PB)
After 1 Year Licensed: Increases to approx. $49.74 / hr (Base + Avg PB) following a successful 1-year review.
Additional Earnings: Overtime opportunities and Nucor Profit Sharing, with increased total earnings potential based on plant performance.

Schedule:
Rotating 8-hour shifts (Monday–Friday)
Days: 6:30am – 2:30pm
Afternoons: 2:30pm – 10:30pm (+$0.60/hour premium)
Nights: 10:30pm – 6:30am (+$1.00/hour premium)

Overtime:
Available based on production needs
Saturday paid at time and a half
Sunday paid at double time

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and equipment
Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, gearboxes, and drive systems
Perform preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
Align, dismantle, and move industrial equipment
Diagnose mechanical failures and complete repairs
Collaborate with electricians and production teams to reduce downtime
Maintain accurate maintenance records in the CMMS
Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

3–5 years industrial maintenance experience (steel or heavy manufacturing preferred)
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be available for rotating shifts and overtime

Working Conditions

Heavy industrial plant environment (hot, cold, dusty, and noisy)
Physically demanding role including standing, lifting, bending, and working at heights
