The Department of Operations Management invites applications for the following teaching position to be offered in the 2026 Fall session.

Department Contact: Dr. Yun Zhou, Area Chair, Operations Management.

Course Name(s)/Number(s): O701, Modelling and Perspective Analytics

Term: Fall 2026

Number of Section(s) Available: 1

Number of Units per Section: 3

Location (on/off campus): DeGroote School of Business, Ron Joyce Centre

Projected Enrollment: 50 students

Projected TA Support: 50 hours

Start Time and Duration: Monday, 11:30am -2:20pm

Wage Rate: $9,750

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Operations Research, Business Analytics, Management Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative discipline.

Demonstrated expertise in prescriptive analytics, including:
- Linear optimization
- Integer optimization
- Network optimization
- Nonlinear optimization
- Simulation and Monte Carlo methods
- Predictive analytics and classification techniques,
Advanced proficiency with:
- Microsoft Excel
- Analytic Solver Platform (Frontline Solver) or equivalent optimization software
- Spreadsheet-based modeling and decision support tools.
At least two years of professional (managerial, consulting, or analytical) experience in business analytics or a closely related area.
Demonstrated ability of integrating quantitative modeling and software tools into instructional activities.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Ph.D. preferred in a relevant subject area, demonstrated teaching excellence at McMaster or another university, more than 2 years of related managerial/professional experience.

This position requires regular on-site attendance at a McMaster University campus to support operational requirements. Flexible work arrangements may be available where operationally feasible and in accordance with the University's Flexible Work Guidelines.

*Supplemented Fees- Article 15.02 The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule B of the Collective Agreement. The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount. If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
