Position Overview
As a Sales Manager at BNP, you will lead a passionate and driven Sales team to exceed ambitious targets and fuel the growth of our mission-driven organization. This role calls for a dynamic leader who thrives on building strategies, inspiring teams, and translating goals into real-world results. You will oversee forecasting, reporting, team development, and sales operations while ensuring an exceptional client experience at every stage.
Collaborating closely with leadership, marketing, and client experience teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our sales success. Key Responsibilities
Leadership, Team Development & Performance Management
- Supervise, coach, and motivate the Sales team to achieve high performance and exceed sales targets
- Assign leads and responsibilities clearly to support accountability, alignment, and team efficiency
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, team reviews, and performance discussions to monitor progress, provide coaching, and support professional development
- Identify skill gaps and implement targeted training and development initiatives to enhance overall team performance and growth
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training for new Sales team members, ensuring smooth transitions and effective ramp-up
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and respectful team culture that supports engagement, continuous improvement, and company values recognition
Sales Operations and Oversight
- Oversee daily sales activities, equitably distribute leads across the team, ensuring timely follow-up, accurate CRM updates, and adherence to best practices.
- Achieve individual sales targets while leading the team through proactive pipeline development, proposal delivery, and successful closing of projects.
- Leverage a strong understanding of the company’s products, services, and project capabilities to lead client discovery meetings, assess project scope and objectives, and appropriately qualify leads toward the most suitable products and project approach.
- Monitor sales funnel health and drive team performance against revenue targets through strategic pipeline management, lead follow-ups, conversion optimization, and proactive sales coaching.
- Collaborate with the VP of Sales to set quarterly targets and outreach strategies that align with overall company goals.
- Partner with operations and design teams to ensure smooth handoffs, consistent communication, and prompt client follow-up.
Forecasting and Reporting
- Prepare and analyze weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and reports, identifying performance trends, pipeline opportunities, risks, and strategic insights to support business growth.
- Track and analyze key sales metrics, including conversion rates, opportunity pipeline health, and lead source effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the VP of Sales on sales summaries for newsletters and internal leadership updates.
Strategy and Continuous Improvement
- Identify trends and opportunities for improvement in sales processes, lead quality, and market positioning.
- Assess and provide feedback on marketing collateral, social media efforts, and lead generation activities.
- Support event and partnership initiatives by identifying relevant opportunities for brand presence and lead generation.
- Lead the development and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive consistency and efficiency in sales operations.
- Contribute ideas and present requests related to training, resource needs, and discretionary spending to support team growth.
- Shadow leadership in client meetings to develop a strong understanding of lead qualification strategies, varying client needs, service offerings, and the complexities of different project scopes and sales opportunities.
CRM Management and Data Integrity
- Ensure CRM systems (BT, HS) are consistently updated, accurate, and leveraged effectively by the Sales team.
- Oversee lead reconciliation efforts, analyzing lost or no-opportunity leads for recovery and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Implement measurable, ongoing improvements to CRM usage and reporting accuracy across the team.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
- Proven ability to forecast, plan, and achieve ambitious sales targets in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of coaching and motivating high-performing teams.
- Experience managing and optimizing CRM systems (such as BT, HubSpot) and maintaining data accuracy.
- Experience managing multi-stage sales pipelines and leading teams within a consultative or project-based sales environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales metrics and provide actionable insights.
- Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively.
- Collaborative approach to working cross-functionally with Marketing, Client Experience, and Leadership teams.
- A passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and building strong client relationships.
- Familiarity with the natural playground, recreation, or education sector is an asset but not required.
