Full job description

Job Responsibilities:

Supplier Management:
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Procurement:
Purchase technical equipment, components, or materials according to company needs.
Manage inventory levels and place orders to avoid shortages or excess stock.
Ensure that purchases meet the technical specifications and quality standards.
Cost Control:
Monitor and control procurement budgets.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
Analyze total costs, including shipping, handling, and warehousing.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate records of orders, contracts, and vendor communications.
Prepare reports on purchasing activities, expenditures, and supplier performance.
Coordination and Communication:
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to understand technical requirements.
Communicate with internal stakeholders to forecast needs and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Resolve issues related to delivery, quality, or payment with suppliers.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Several years of experience in technical procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
Certifications: Professional certifications like Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) are advantageous.

Skills:

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of the technical specifications and requirements of the products being procured.
Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers while maintaining strong relationships.
Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze costs, supplier performance, and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
Attention to Detail: Precision in ensuring that purchases meet quality standards and specifications.
Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve issues related to procurement, such as delays or quality concerns.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective coordination with suppliers and internal teams.
