Role Overview
To support our vision of empowered young women challenging and transforming the world, we are currently seeking a Middle School Teacher - Homeroom, Language Arts and Social Studies. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Middle School Principal and Faculty and will be responsible for the development and delivery of creative and innovative inquiry based programming, while meeting the individual needs of all students in the classroom.

Department: Middle School
Reports to: Principal, Middle School
Education: Bachelor of Education, Ontario Teacher Certification
Experience: 3+ years experience teaching at Middle School level (Grades 6/7/8) with a focus on homeroom, language arts and social studies
Advanced Qualifications preferred
Experience in a non-profit setting (asset)
Experience in an Independent School (asset)
Working Conditions: Office / School Environment, Mac, Google

Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Experience with developing innovative inquiry-based programming that challenges students with a variety of learning styles, interests and strengths.
- Exemplary communication and collaboration skills with the proven ability to develop relationships and a caring rapport with students and their families, and with colleagues.

Compensation & Terms
Annual compensation is based on our Faculty Salary Grid, which factors in qualifications and up to 12 years of teaching experience:
Entry to 6 Years: $62,436 – $95,210 Over 6 Years: $90,962 – $123,876
For faculty, the Faculty Salary Grid includes grid steps that recognize up to 12 years of qualifying teaching experience. SMLS is also a member of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP).
