We have obtained FDA approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe® Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients!
In this role, you will join Kardium’s Procurement team during an exciting phase of commercial ramp-up. You will play a key role in transitioning to a new ERP platform and purchasing tools, directly supporting our mission to transform the treatment of atrial fibrillation and improve patients' lives.
Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.
Meaningful work you will be a part of
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Own full-cycle procurement across direct/indirect materials, services, and CapEx.
- Lead complex procurement activities to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials and alignment with production schedules.
- Manage high-value contract negotiations and commercial agreements.
- Collaborate with internal supply chain partners to establish strategic safety stock and inventory targets.
- Foster procurement team growth through active mentorship and best-practice sharing.
- Secure supplier capacity to meet manufacturing ramp-up volumes.
- Drive the transition to the new ERP platform and purchasing systems.
- Audit and maintain ERP purchasing master data to ensure precise supplier info, contract pricing, and lead times.
- Collaborate with category managers to optimize inventory levels and reduce single-source supply chain risk.
- Drive execution of supplier onboarding, regulatory alignment, and new part approvals.
- Lead high-complexity sourcing for Electromechanical (EME) and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA).
- Develop strategic supplier partnerships and manage supplier performance and risk mitigation.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for the purchasing team to resolve supplier cost, delivery, quality, and relationship issues.
- Leverage market analysis to develop new sourcing strategies.
- Serve as the procurement subject matter expert to internal business leaders.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities including make versus buy decisions, evaluate total cost of ownership, negotiate pricing, payment terms, develop cost-benefit analyses models, and ensure identified priorities are implemented.
- Recommend improvements to procurement policies and processes.
- Other tasks as assigned.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- 5+ of experience working as a Senior Purchasing Agent or similar role.
- Experience in technology, manufacturing, and/or medical environment.
- Team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
Requirements & Skills:
- Proven experience sourcing and managing suppliers for Electromechanical (EME) components and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA).
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP procurement systems (Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle).
- Ability to manage multiple projects/vendors and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in highly regulated environment is an asset. Knowledge of ISO 9001, 13485, FDA QSR, and other relevant regulatory requirements (preferred).
Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
- $80,000 - $100,000 (CAD Annually)
