As a vital link between the kitchen and the customer, you will deliver exceptional service by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help foster a welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your food service expertise while working in a lively, fast-paced environment.

Duties

Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and specials.
Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS (Point of Sale) systems, such as Micros POS, ensuring timely entry and communication with the kitchen staff.
Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation, sanitation, and safety.
Manage guest needs throughout their dining experience, addressing questions about menu items, dietary restrictions, or special requests with professionalism.
Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities through friendly recommendations.
Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties, while balancing registers at shift end.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas, adhering to food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures.
Assist in basic food preparation when needed, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
Manage time effectively to serve multiple tables efficiently without compromising quality or guest experience.

Qualifications

Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly preferred.
Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cashiering tasks.
Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that creates positive guest interactions.
Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques.
Ability to perform basic math accurately for billing, tips, and cash handling purposes.
Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during high-volume periods.
Experience with food industry operations including serving, upselling, and managing guest needs effectively.
Kitchen experience or understanding of food preparation processes is a plus but not required.
