Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism to support our company's logistics operations.

Duties

Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport freight and goods to designated locations
Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or heavy equipment when necessary
Verify delivery orders and ensure accuracy of shipments before departure
Maintain delivery schedules and communicate effectively with dispatch for route adjustments
Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
Assist with freight handling, including loading, securing, and unloading items
Operate heavy equipment or forklifts as needed for loading or unloading cargo
Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations during deliveries
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures upon receipt

Skills

Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
Experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, or other industrial machinery is a plus
Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols
Basic automotive repair skills for minor vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance
Strong organizational skills to manage routes efficiently and meet delivery deadlines
Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively in various environments
Physical ability to lift heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks as required
