Ki Cafe, a Japanese-inspired cafe located beside Royal Oak Skytrain Station in Burnaby, is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team. We specialize in bubble tea, house-baked desserts, and home-style meals. We are currently looking for kitchen staff who are detail-oriented, reliable, and available for weekends and closing shifts. This role begins as part-time with the opportunity to transition into full-time.
As a Kitchen Team Member, you will play a vital role in meal preparation, food handling, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. We welcome both experienced candidates and those eager to learn and grow within our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble meals according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and portioning ingredients
- Plate dishes with consistency and attention to detail
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and proper waste disposal
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
- Support the team during busy periods with various kitchen tasks as needed
- Assist with daily opening and closing duties
- Keep the kitchen organized, clean, and well-stocked
Requirements:
- Previous kitchen or food service experience is preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn and follow recipes, procedures, and kitchen standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices is an asset
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Availability to work weekends and evening closing shifts
