STEWARD - LOCATED IN CALEDON (ALTON), ONTARIO
We are currently hiring for the position of Steward for our 2026 season. A Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas of a hospitality establishment. The primary responsibilities include washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring proper sanitation standards, and assisting in the overall cleanliness of the food and beverage operation.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Embracing and Living our Common Purpose and Core Values.
· Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment according to established standards.
· Operate industrial dishwashing machines and ensure they are properly maintained.
· Hand wash items as needed, paying attention to details and cleanliness.
· Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment.
· Empty and clean trash receptacles regularly.
· Assist in the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
· Adhere to established sanitation and hygiene standards.
· Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of waste.
· Report any hygiene or sanitation issues to the supervisor.
· Provide support to kitchen and service staff as needed.
· Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining areas for service.
· Assist in monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies.
· Report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
· Collaborate with other stewarding staff to ensure a smooth workflow.
· Communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams to address cleaning needs.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not always required.
· Knowledge of proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
· Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
· Basic communication skills.
· Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods.
· Ability to work on a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
