Full job description

Millcroft Inn & Spa is currently seeking a Bartender to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity that can provide flexibility, valuable work experience, and a chance to work with a tenured team.

Job Title: Bartender
Location: 55 John Street, Alton, ON
Property: Millcroft Inn & Spa

This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.

Position Summary: To take food and drink orders from guests seated within the designated bar and restaurant area in a prompt and courteous manner consistent with a four-diamond dining facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities :

Provide personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
Meeting established up-selling and sales goals
Make drinks for the lounge guests and restaurant servers, strictly based on orders rung through the Point of Sale system
Pick-up food from the kitchen and serve it to Guests
Clear and clean tables after Guests leave
Keep bar area clean
Clean the beer fridge
Fill and put away bar requisition
Stock bar product and equipment
Wipe down menus
To create check, collect payment, and settle transactions following standard operating procedures
Responsible for cash floats and deposits
Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services
Suggesting additional product and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences
Assessing Guests’ individual needs to meet standards for additional products and services
Actively seeking ways to meet Guests’ product or service needs

All other duties as assigned

Professional Requirements:

Extensive wine and beverage knowledge
Minimum of 2 years of similar experience in the field
Diploma in Bartending or Mixology beneficial
Smart Serve certificate required

Personal Attributes:

Excellent communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Able to Up-sell
Capable of prioritizing work and handling a variety of tasks
Confidence in selling and up-selling products and services
Positive sales-oriented personality
Desire to meet goals

Physical Requirements:

Lifting up to 20 lbs
