PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the appropriate site supervisor, the Senior Surveyor Technician will be responsible to ensure Aecon Civil Construction Corp. achieves their general and specific project requirements, on the Deerfoot Trail Improvements Project.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Senior Surveyor will be responsible for the planning of daily work, management of crews, technical field layout and/or mentoring of additional survey crews.
- Civil 3d calculations of civil and structural components of the project.
- Maintain and verify project control networks.
- Manage as-builts and project deliverables, including Cad deliverables.
- Prepare and manage monitoring plans.
- Work with Survey manager on scheduling and resource management.
- Process drone data with Pix4D.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Ability to work 6 days a week, day and night shift as needed
- Must have a post-secondary degree in Surveying or Geomatics.
- Civil3d Proficiency.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Construction surveying industry.
- Road Safety Training System (RSTS) is considered an asset
- Advanced Drone License is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Pix4d is considered and asset.
- Familiar with wide range of survey duties including earthwork, structural, utility, and control.
- Must have a solid understanding of safety requirements on an active construction site and applicable safety policies.
- Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of office, data, surveying, and engineering-based software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of engineering design and survey methods.
- Class 5 drivers’ license
