Full job description

Job Title: Intern Architect / Junior Architect
Location: Calgary, Alberta
Industry: Architecture & Design Studio
Compensation: $60k + depending on experience

About the Opportunity

An established and design-driven architecture studio is looking to welcome an ambitious Intern Architect or Junior Architect to its growing team. This firm have a stunning portfolio of high level design work and seek out creative individuals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to sharpen their skills across all phases of a project—from early concept development through to construction.

You’ll be joining a collaborative environment where creativity, mentorship, and professional growth are genuinely prioritized. With a strong national presence and a diverse portfolio spanning multiple sectors, this firm offers meaningful exposure and the chance to contribute to impactful, well-crafted spaces.

Your Role

Support project teams in producing drawings, 3D models, visualizations, and client-ready presentations
Assist in shaping design concepts, planning layouts, and developing detailed construction documentation
Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project phases
Participate in site visits, field reviews, and construction administration tasks
Conduct research on materials, systems, and evolving design practices
Help ensure all deliverables align with applicable building codes, regulations, and internal quality standards
Collaborate closely with team members to meet deadlines and deliver thoughtful, high-quality design solutions

What You Bring

Degree in Architecture (Bachelor’s or Master’s) from a recognized Canadian institution
A compelling portfolio that demonstrates creativity, technical ability, and design thinking
Currently enrolled in, or eligible for, the architectural licensing/internship program (AAA registration)
At least 3 years of industry experience
Proficiency in tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite
Strong visual communication, technical detailing, and problem-solving skills
A proactive mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively and learn from senior professionals
