The Department of Physiology & Pharmacology in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Psychometrist. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 1 year (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
This position reports to the Principal Investigator.
The Research Psychometrist will be engaged in studies involving health older adults and older adults at risk of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia.
The Research Psychometrist's primary purpose is to contributes to the ongoing psychometric data collection for numerous research studies by assisting with study administration, providing general testing support and collection and scoring of study test data. This requires experience administering and scoring neuropsychological or other psychometric tests and communicating effectively and with care with participants in the studies.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

Standardized Test Administration: administers, scores and records results of neuropsychological and other standardized tests

Data Management: scores and enters collected data into database system, and develops and maintains filing system for subject and test documentation

General Administrative Support:
- provides a test procedures list and test description for submission of forms to Research Ethics Board or granting agencies and orders

maintains and monitors neuropsychological test library

normative data documentation and supplies (e.g., copyrighted forms)

Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications / Requirements:

BSc or BA in psychology, neuroscience or a closely related discipline

Completion of an undergraduate level neuropsychology or abnormal psychology course and an assessment course or equivalent training

Thorough knowledge of research design is a must

Knowledge of (or commitment to training in) administration and scoring of standardized psychological tests and their updates as needed for various research projects

Experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Experience with SPSS, clinical populations, and data analysis

Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, keen observational skills, i.e., strong attention to detail regarding patient behaviour and emotional reactions in testing situation

Work cooperatively and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and as such, must have great interpersonal skills
