In cooperation with the department and faculty, the Partner Engagement Coordinator (Financials Industry) is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating and promoting work experience programs, developing and maintaining stakeholder partnerships, facilitating learning and bridging student entry into the workplace. The Coordinator is also accountable to both lead and participate in team-based projects as a collaborative means to draw on skill synergy and achieve department objectives.
This position is a full-time role, working 35 hours per week.
Research, develop and implement a strategic local, regional, and provincial marketing plan in order to contact and engage targeted employers to hire students for quality work settings/opportunities;
Source, develop, foster and maintain employer-client relationships to ensure participation in work experience programming;
Identify prospective employers who provide suitable learning experiences, evaluation and supervision;
Assist employers to evaluate present and future human resources requirements;
Assist in the preparation of students for the world of work in response to the labour market;
Build/maintain employer database to record participation and target marketing effectiveness;
Communicate expectations and policies to employers/students, and maintain quality control.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field;
Minimum 5-8 years of relevant marketing experience ideally coupled with applicable work experience in marketing, human resources, and/or career development;
Industry experience and familiarity in the finance, business, commerce or economics sector/s, or a directly related field, with an established professional network, is considered an asset;
Experience in post-secondary education, work-integrated learning, talent development, or career services is an asset but is not required;
Proven ability to work independently and within self-managed teams;
Exceptional relationship building and management skills;
Strong business development and negotiation skills; comfort structuring and closing partnership agreements;
High aptitude for problem-solving and attention to detail in conjunction with excellent organizational skills and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities;
Outstanding oral and written communication skills; strong presentation and facilitation skills; polished professional presence and a track record for diplomacy;
Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and digital communication platforms;
Self-directed work ethic; ability to manage a complex portfolio with minimal supervision;
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for regular partner visits and off-campus engagements.
