Full job description

The Thermal Spray Operator will work in our HVOF Spray department. All operators will be trained to rotate between several job functions within the area: (a) Spray Operator (using the robot system), (b) Manual Grinder Operator (Operating a manual grinder), (c) Manual Lathe Operator – Polishing parts (using a manual lathe), (d) Blasting Parts (Operating a blast booth) and (e) Packaging Parts.

Education, Skills and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent GED
Must be able to read and understand written planning and follow verbal instructions.
Previous Manufacturing or Machine shop experience – rotating equipment (lathes, grinders, etc.).
Reading and interpreting of blueprints and coating specifications
Previous operating and programming of thermal spray equipment (i.e. Sulzer Metco)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Work in the Spray Department rotating between several job functions – Spray (using the robot system), Grinding parts (using a manual grinder).
Sets up thermal spray tools including selecting the appropriate fixture and identifying the proper spray schedule; performs daily qualification test; Identifies and resolves problems with thermal spray equipment, masking, and fixtures.
Performs minor and preventative maintenance on all thermal spray support equipment.
Carrying out tests and trial coatings for development/implementation and process stability testing purpose
Programming of the thermal spray equipment.
Preparation of components and equipment before process start (blasting / masking / preheat)
Visual inspection and measurement of coating parameters as per specification
Removal of coating overspray and masking residues
Completion of shop job paperwork (tracking of key in process information).
Operation of a manual grinder
Operation of a manual lathe.
Packaging of outgoing customer parts.
Quality check of the performed work before operation step confirmation
Complete daily preventative maintenance checks on all equipment including cranes.
Complete daily housing keeping tasks.
Daily inspection of equipment tools. fixtures and measurement equipment needed for operation.
Able to work overtime as needed. Good attendance is required.
Any other job related, and support activity duties as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
