About Eye Recommend
Eye Recommend supports independent optometry business owners across Canada through training, business services, supplier programs, events, digital tools, and member-focused resources. Our goal is to help independent practices operate more efficiently, make better decisions, and grow stronger businesses.
We are looking for an AI Workflow & Product Coordinator to help us explore and apply practical AI solutions across our organization and member-facing products.
This is an early-career role suited for a new graduate, career transition candidate, or someone with 1-3 years of relevant experience in AI tools, digital operations, product support, automation, business analysis, marketing technology, or workflow improvement.
About the Role
The AI Workflow & Product Coordinator will support the development of AI-enabled workflows, internal tools, and product ideas that help Eye Recommend teams and independent optometry business owners.
You will work with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, project scopes, meeting notes, process documents, and feedback to identify where AI can support better workflows, stronger content, smarter reporting, and more efficient operations.
This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working through ambiguity, asking smart questions, testing different approaches, and building a strong first version without needing every detail handed to them.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of practical AI workflows, tools, and product enhancements.
- Review project scopes, SME notes, business requirements, and feedback to identify opportunities for AI support.
- Translate rough ideas or business problems into structured workflows, prompts, prototypes, documentation, or process improvements.
- Research and test AI tools, platforms, and use cases that may benefit Eye Recommend and independent optometry business owners.
- Build lightweight prototypes or proof-of-concepts using AI tools, automation platforms, spreadsheets, no-code/low-code tools, or other accessible systems.
- Support internal teams with prompt development, workflow mapping, content structuring, documentation, and AI-assisted process improvement.
- Help evaluate how AI can support member resources, training, communications, reporting, operations, and digital product experiences.
- Work with subject matter experts to refine outputs and ensure solutions are accurate, practical, and useful.
- Assist with AI-related product discovery, testing, QA, and implementation support.
- Create clear documentation, user guides, process notes, and internal best practices.
- Stay current on practical AI trends and recommend relevant opportunities.
What We’re Looking For
- Early-career knowledge of AI tools, digital workflows, automation, product support, business analysis, or digital operations.
- A new graduate, career transition candidate, or someone with 1–3 years of related experience would be a strong fit.
- Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, or similar platforms.
- Strong ability to take messy information and turn it into something structured, useful, and actionable.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete information.
- Able to work independently from project scope, SME feedback, notes, and available documentation.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Curious, resourceful, and willing to test, learn, and improve quickly.
- Bold enough to recommend ideas, challenge assumptions, and create a first version.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Interested in helping small business owners and independent healthcare practices succeed.
Nice to Have
- Experience with prompt engineering or AI workflow design.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Zapier, Make, Power Automate, or similar platforms.
- Basic understanding of APIs, spreadsheets, databases, or data structures.
- Experience with product management, business analysis, marketing technology, content systems, or digital operations.
- Basic Python, SQL, or scripting knowledge.
- Experience creating documentation, training materials, or process guides.
- Interest in healthcare, optometry, small business, or member-based organizations.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means you can take an unclear business problem, gather context, test possible AI-supported solutions, and create something useful for the team or our members.
You do not need to know everything on day one. You do need to be a strong self-starter who can learn quickly, work through uncertainty, and bring structure to new ideas.
Over time, success may include:
- Creating repeatable AI workflows that save internal teams time.
- Helping turn SME knowledge into useful tools, guides, or member resources.
- Supporting early AI product ideas from discovery through testing.
- Improving how Eye Recommend documents, structures, and uses information.
- Helping teams use AI responsibly, consistently, and effectively.
Why Join Eye Recommend?
This is an opportunity to work on practical AI projects with real business impact. Your work will help support independent optometry business owners across Canada and contribute to the next generation of Eye Recommend’s digital tools, member services, and internal workflows.
You will have room to learn, experiment, and help shape how AI is used across the organization.
