FRFA offers 280 hours employment, at 30 hours per week. Employment would start on or after June 25th, and run for 9.3 consecutive weeks, finishing by August 29th, 2026.
Job tasks will include cleaning (i.e. some combination of cages, litter boxes, water and food bowls, bedding, floors), and feeding cats. Grooming and administering medications may also be required.
Applicants must be animal lovers, self-starters, observant, patient, kind, in reasonable physical condition (able to lift 40 pounds), and have good attention to detail. Actual duties and hours will be determined based upon the best fit between the shelter and the individual. The shelter is on a bus route in the McCall area (just east of Deerfoot Trail, between McKnight Blvd. and 32 Ave NE). Parking is available.
This is a Canada Summer Jobs sponsored position. Applicants do not have to be students, but must be:
· Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment,
. A Canadian, a permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Projection Act for the duration of the employment
· Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. International students are not eligible participants.
As an animal care attendant, you will be contributing to the health and welfare of all of the cats at the shelter.
