Operations Manager – Events & Venue Operations

The Princeton is seeking an experienced, highly organized Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our event venue, including event execution, staffing, bar operations, inventory, and overall venue readiness.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and takes ownership of the details that make an event run smoothly.
The Role
Reporting to the Venue Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring The Princeton is fully prepared and operating at a high standard for every event.
You will oversee the operational side of the venue—from staff scheduling and event setup to bar readiness, inventory control, closing procedures, and post-event reporting.
You will work closely with the Venue Director and directly oversee the Bar Lead and event staff.
Key Responsibilities
Venue & Event Operations
- Oversee the execution of weddings, corporate events, private functions, and venue activations
- Review upcoming events and ensure staffing, bar, furniture, equipment, and operational requirements are prepared in advance
- Lead venue opening and closing procedures
- Conduct pre-event and post-event walkthroughs
- Ensure event spaces, washrooms, bars, storage areas, and back-of-house areas are clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready
- Coordinate event setup, room flips, teardown, and reset
- Troubleshoot operational issues during events and make decisions quickly when required
- Coordinate with caterers, DJs, planners, rental companies, security, and other event vendors
Staff Management
- Prepare and manage operational staff schedules based on event requirements
- Supervise bartenders, event staff, porters and the Bar Lead
- Assign duties and conduct pre-event staff briefings
- Monitor staff performance, punctuality, presentation, and service standards
- Help train new employees and reinforce venue procedures
- Review staff hours and ensure accurate timekeeping
Bar Operations & Inventory
- Oversee the Bar Lead and ensure bars are properly stocked and prepared before every event
- Maintain accurate liquor, beer, wine, mixer, and bar-supply inventory
- Establish par levels and identify products requiring replenishment
- Monitor product usage, waste, breakage, comps, and inventory discrepancies
- Ensure inventory counts and receiving procedures are completed accurately
- Work with management on ordering and cost control
- Ensure Square POS items and operational procedures are being followed correctly
- Monitor bar cleanliness, organization, cash procedures, and end-of-night reconciliation
- Help prevent product shortages during events through proper forecasting and preparation
Building & Operational Standards
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the property
- Identify maintenance or repair requirements and coordinate their completion
- Ensure furniture, AV equipment, bar equipment, and venue assets are properly handled and stored
- Maintain organized storage and inventory areas
- Complete operational checklists and incident reports when required
- Ensure venue policies, liquor-service requirements, safety procedures, and event rules are followed
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of hospitality, venue, restaurant, hotel, or event operations experience
- Previous supervisory or management experience
- Strong understanding of bar operations and beverage inventory
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable managing multiple events, deadlines, staff, and vendors
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold a team accountable
- High attention to detail and presentation
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of operations
- Able to remain calm and make decisions during busy events
- Comfortable using POS, scheduling, inventory, and basic office software
- Available evenings and weekends based on the event schedule
- ProServe certification required or ability to obtain prior to starting
- Friendly personality, and able to stay calm under high pressue situations

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading a team, solving problems, and making sure every event operates seamlessly.
Pay: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
