To address all the above rental purposes, FC over the years has developed a state-of-the-art, client-friendly rental process and distribution service. We have built up a significant inventory of the following goods that are stored in an organized manner at the FC warehouses:
- Household furniture (for bedrooms, dining areas, living rooms)
- Office furniture
- Event style furniture
- Décor, artwork, accessories, light fixtures, etc.
- Small appliances, electronics, kitchenware, dinnerware, bath and bedding packages, etc. (typically used to support the relocation of individuals)
Warehouses typically have an area dedicated to furniture inspection, repair, and upkeep that is equipped with all the necessary tools, hardware, and accessories.
FC has its own fleet of trucks/delivery staff at all locations
Responsibilities:
FC Warehouseman/Delivery Coordinator/Furniture Repair Person is ultimately responsible for the proper moving, storage, maintenance and repair of the above company goods, warehouse areas and company owned/leased tools and equipment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform, Assist & Supervise manual assembly of orders from the warehouse according to packing lists (preparation of furniture for shipment)
- Load or Supervise loading of Furniture Connection goods onto the Furniture Connection transportation trucks or transportation trucks by third party contractors.
- When receiving; inspect furniture, document any damage, perform repairs and clean goods prior to storing at designated storage spot.
- Report any major damages to the Operations Manager and keep the goods requiring professional repair or cleaning at a designated area.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized, and safe warehouse environment. As per the above, Furniture Connection warehouse has a strict organization with the goods stored in their allocated spot for ease of tracking and location.
- Storage of goods should be performed in a way not to cause any damage to the goods.
- Supervise and conduct minor warehouse and office maintenance and cleaning duties.
Additional Furniture Repair and Maintenance Requirements:
As a skilled professional who specializes in repairing and restoring furniture, he/she will have knowledge in woodworking, upholstery, and finishing techniques, and can work with a variety of materials such as wood, leather, and fabric. Furniture technicians are essential for maintaining the quality and longevity of furniture. Specific tasks include:
- Inspect and troubleshoot furniture for problems and defects
- Repair and restore furniture to its original condition using various tools and techniques
- Install and assemble furniture for clients, ensuring proper fit and function
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in furniture repair and installation
- Communicate with clients to understand their furniture needs and provide recommendations for repair or replacement
- Assemble furniture when required by FC
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new techniques for furniture repair and installation
- Comply with FC Safety Rules and Policies
- As required assist with goods loading, transportation, and discharge by using Employer’s own transportation truck
Warehouse/Delivery/ Furniture Repair reports to the Warehouse Supervisor & Operations Manager
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in furniture repair and assembly
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy furniture
- Valid driver's license, clean abstract and reliable transportation for off-site repairs
