The Department of History in the Faculty of Arts invites applications for an Editorial Assistant role. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 2 years (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
The Canadian Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies is the journal of the Canadian Association of Latin American and Caribbean Studies. It publishes original research articles and book reviews related to the field in Spanish, French, Portuguese and English. This position reports to the editor-in-chief of the journal will work with the book review editor, and the portfolio manager and production editor at Taylor & Francis.
This role will require approximately 7 hours per week.
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the review process for submitted research articles and book reviews using the online submission platform provided by Taylor & Francis.
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

Qualifications / Requirements:

Postgraduate degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies or a related discipline;

Proficiency in English and Spanish;

Working knowledge of French and Portuguese;

A combination of experience, training, and education with be considered;

Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills;

Experience with data collection and tracking, measuring, and reporting outcomes is an asset.
