Established in 1974, The TreeHouse Flower Shoppe is a family owned and run business that prides itself on quality flowers and compassionate customer care. We are looking for a permanent full time team member to join our small, tight-knit crew.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment and has strong people skills. You will play a crucial role in providing excellent service to our customers while assisting with various tasks related to shop operations. This role will require wearing many hats. This person will be flexible, jumping from task to task with expert flow, to handle constantly changing priorities. No task is too small or mundane for you, you want to contribute to the success of the business by doing everything you can to improve customer experience and ease for management.

This job is physically demanding and requires us to be on our feet for the full shift. The candidate will be comfortable with some heavy lifting and will get plenty of steps in moving around the store.
Daily responsibilities will include:
· Being a key-holder; opening up the shop, setting up flower displays and preparing the team for the day ahead;
· Communicating effectively with team members and customers, ensuring a friendly and welcoming atmosphere;
· Assisting customers in selecting flowers and plants, providing knowledgeable recommendations;
· Engaging in retail sales activities, promoting seasonal products, and operating the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently while processing transactions;
· Answering the phone and speaking in detail with customers about orders and ensuring accurate details of the order into our computer system;
· Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop, ensuring displays are attractive and well-stocked. This includes frequent cleaning, sweeping, and organizing of the work area and coolers;
· Taking inventory count of incoming stock, processing incoming flowers, cleaning stems, cleaning buckets, changing water, and maintaining the freshness of all stock;
· Organizing daily deliveries (packing and communication with delivery drivers);
· Assisting with marketing initiatives and social media engagement;
· Increasing responsibility with preparing orders and making bouquets and arrangements will come after some time and a comfort level with the basic duties in the shop.
Qualifications:
· Customer service experience (minimum 1 year);
· Computer skills is an asset. POS and social media platform experience is a bonus;
· Exudes professionalism and positivity;
· Strong, independent and confident learner/worker;
· Excellent communication skills in English to interact with customers and team members effectively;
· Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated;
· Thrives under pressure in a fast paced environment;
· Willingness to do manual labor (lifting buckets, cleaning).

We are open 7 days a week. This person must be willing to work opening and closing shifts and some weekends. Some flexibility with scheduling will be required. There are several major floral holidays through the year. Leading up to Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas, we expect that every employee is available to work the 10-14 days prior to the holiday.
Some floral experience is preferred by not required. We will consider a combination of floral experience, completion of floral design courses, customer service experience and desire to be a career florist. We will train the right person, so a willingness to learn and grow in this industry is an absolute must!
Rate of pay will be based on experience.
