Job Title

Instructor -Unit Clerk Instructor

Job Description

ABES College has provided training in more than 50 program areas during our 30+ years of operation, and currently offers a variety of health care and medical school training programs.

ABES College is made up of employees who are committed to our learners´ success, as well as each other´s. Our staff and faculty consistently say it is the people who keep them at the College, the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our learners, and the incredible support they receive from their co-workers and supervisors.

We are currently hiring Casual Instructors to support our growing needs in Unit Clerk Medical Office Assistant Program

Instructors are responsible for providing instruction to learners in a classroom setting, evaluating learner progress, contributing to the development instructional materials, and supporting learners in meeting the learning outcomes of their courses and program outcomes.

Provides Quality Instruction in Courses as Assigned

· Instructs courses as assigned.

· Selects instructional strategies to meet learner needs.

· Creates lesson plans.

· Supports development and updating of curriculum, guides and rubrics as requested.

· Evaluates learner performance on an ongoing basis and provides learners and administrators with learner progress reports.

· Maintains official records as required.

· Facilitates learning within variety of settings.

· Familiar with classroom routine

· Excellent organizations and interpersonal skills

Provides a Positive Learning Experience for Learners

· Supports learners navigating various challenges (for example: attendance; conduct, performance).

· Identifies areas of concern and refer to the Program Coordinator if follow up is necessary.

· Refers learners to other institutional supports as required (for example: tutoring, counseling).

· Builds and Maintains Relationship with Internal and External Stakeholders and promote the Department and the College.

· Keeps current regarding changes in best practice and adapts facilitation as required.

· Assists with articulation and transfer activity for learners as required.

· Maintains a networking relationship with employers of Health Care Aides.

Other Duties /Special Projects

· Follows ABES College Policies and Procedures.

· Completes any professional development requirements.

· Other duties as assigned which are deemed necessary to support colleagues in their roles or support the College in achieving its goals and objectives.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

· Nursing Diploma- CLPNA Practice Permit without restriction or Unit Clerk, or Medical Office Assistant Certificate

· Minimum of 3 years of related experience

· Enhanced police information check including vulnerable sector

· Up to date immunization records

· Ability to work during days, evening, and weekend.

Preferred

· Prior experience teaching in a clinical setting is an asset

· Preferred Education in Adult Teaching and Learning

· Curriculum development an asset

· Industry relationship an asset

· Strong understanding of the role and scope of the Licensed Practical Nurse and Health Care Aide

Job Type: Casual Days, Evenings and Weekends.

Pay: $34.00-$40.00 per hour
