Role Objective
Precise Pipe is looking for a motivated Business Development Assistant to primarily support our VP of Business Development, with the opportunity to develop into a Junior Business Development role as they gain experience and demonstrate capability.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of sales or business development experience, and recent graduates are welcome to apply. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and eager to learn B2B industrial sales.
Initially, the role will focus on strong day-to-day support to the VP, including customer and market research, meeting preparation, CRM updates, customer visit coordination, and internal team coordination. Over time, the successful candidate will gradually take greater ownership of prospecting, customer outreach, and business development activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to the VP of Business Development, including research, preparation, follow-ups, and coordination.
- Research customers, prospects, markets, competitors, and industry opportunities to support business development activities.
- Prepare meeting materials, customer information, agendas, notes, and follow-up items.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, update customer information, and track activities, opportunities, and follow-ups.
- Coordinate with operations, technical, sales, and other internal teams to support customer requirements and business development activities.
- Support the VP with customer visits, including scheduling, preparation, and driving to/from customer meetings as required.
- Assist with quotations, proposals, customer information, and follow-up communications.
- Support prospecting and customer outreach through calls, emails, LinkedIn, networking, and customer visits.
- Gradually take greater ownership of prospecting, lead generation, follow-ups, and customer relationships as experience and confidence develop.
- Maintain regular communication with prospects and customers and ensure timely follow-through on commitments.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of sales, business development, customer service, or related experience preferred; recent graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong interest in developing a career in B2B sales and business development.
- Experience in industrial products, OEM, oil & gas, electricity, manufacturing, or a technical industry is an asset.
- Strong comprehension and ability to learn technical products, customer requirements, and industrial markets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined with follow-ups.
- Comfortable working with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and customer information.
- Valid driver's licence and an acceptable driving record required.
- Comfortable driving as part of the role and supporting during customer visits.
- Must be comfortable working in person from our Calgary office.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: CA$55,000–$65,000 per year, depending on experience.
Performance Bonus / Commission: Available based on results.
