Street Characters Inc. is on the lookout for an experienced mascot props sculptor to join our team for current and upcoming productions!
Role:
As a mascot sculptor you will be in charge of creating exciting, dynamic and detailed mascots and props that fit the style of the concept design. For this position, we are looking for a portfolio that shows a variety of your work, with a strong understanding of proportion, dimension, and a keen eye for details.
Responsibilities:
· Create a three-dimensional form; from EVA foam, to match the approved concept art
· Collaborate within different departments and other prop makers to create engaging mascots and props
· Ensure proper use and maintenance of all tools
· Knowledge and safe use of solvent (eg contact cement)
· Continuous learning of new products and techniques
· Thoroughly document production process
You will be a great fit on our team if you:
· Have a degree or diploma in fine arts or sculpting or equivalent experience
· Have sewing knowledge (machine and hand sewing)
· Have a strong understanding of proportion, balance, perspective and dimension
· Have an eye for detail and good design sense
· Have experience with small power tools and hand tools
· Are able to problem solve
· Are motivated, hardworking and able to work in a fast pace environment
· Are organized with good sense of time management skills
· Can take direction and work collaboratively within a team environment
· Communicate professionally and positively
· Have familiarity with computers and tablets
· Are able to read, speak and listen in English at at least an intermediate level (CLB-7)
. Have a minimum 3 to 5 years relevant experience
