Donna Cona Inc. is seeking the expertise of a Senior Structured Cabling and Certified Electrician with strong experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of structured cabling. The candidate should also have experience in utilizing fluke testers, multimeters, and other electrical testing equipment.
The successful candidate should possess a current Belden certificate, and Red Seal for electrical. Fall arrest, and confined space will be considered an asset. Experience with fiber optic cable will be considered an asset. Experience travelling to northern communities will be considered a strong asset.
Candidate MUST have the following:
- Ability to work independently and in teams;
- Ability to work outdoors in various conditions;
- Ability to read and create as-built drawings and cabling layouts;
- Familiarity with Structured Cabling Guidelines;
- Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code;
- Knowledge of structured cabling materials and tools;
- Experience with cable installation, testing, and conduit work; and
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
Additional Competencies:
- Experience with fiber optic installation, tracing, and patching;
- Experience with aerial and underground fiber installation;
- Familiarity with cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI);
- Experience using Fluke testers and certification tools;
- Ability to produce accurate as-built documentation;
- Experience in remote or logistically complex environments; and
- Experience with material staging and shipment coordination.
Candidate should have the following demonstrated experience:
- Install telecommunications cables including terminations and splices;
- Troubleshoot and repair communications cabling;
- Work with contractors and plant operators;
- Support shipping and logistics of cabling materials;
- Install and maintain cabling systems;
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes; and
- Maintain equipment and tools.
Additional experience:
- Testing - Perform cable certification testing and validation;
- Troubleshooting - Troubleshoot fiber and copper performance issues;
- Documentation - Produce accurate as-built documentation;
- Deployment - Support community deployments and site preparation;
- Shipping and Staging - Coordinate material shipping and staging;
- Safety - Ensure safety compliance in all field operations;
- Collaboration - Work with network and systems teams during deployments; and
- Mentorship - Provide guidance to junior technicians.
