Company Overview

Barber Collins Security Services Ltd. is a security service provider that has been serving Southwestern Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area since 1980. We pride ourselves on our commitment to our employees and our focus on delivering exceptional customer service.

Barber Collins security is looking for a night Security Guard to commute to a clients facility in Cambridge, ON.

This site has limited bus route access so candidates MUST have their own personal car to get to and from the work site.

This is an existing vacancy.

Shifts:

Week 1 (33 hours):

Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 pm to 7 am

Week 2 (35 hours):

Sunday from 9 pm to 7 am
Wednesday from 6 pm to 2 am
Thursday from 9 pm to 7 am

These hours are not negotiable.

Responsibilities:

Conduct regular foot patrols as required.
Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
Access control for the facility/area.
Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

Skills:

Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
Integrity and professionalism.
Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.

Pay: $17.75 per hour
