Construction Site Superintendent/Foreman (Civil/Mechanical Construction)
H2ONTARIO INC.

New Hamburg, Ontario

H2Ontario is looking at hiring a full-time Site Superintendent/Foreman for various size projects throughout Southwestern and Central Ontario.

Summary:

H2Ontario is seeking an eager individual who wants to learn and grow within our organization. We are currently seeking people with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a site superintendent/foreman for working alongside project managers on larger scale projects, or independently on smaller scale projects, to effectively carry out day to day duties and responsibilities. We offer excellent pay based on experience and performance. Good communication skills and a strong work ethic are a must.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of construction workers on-site.
Actively participate in construction tasks and lead other trades as necessary
Work collaboratively with Project Managers with the preparation and execution of overall work plans and coordination of on-site activities to maintain project schedule.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures, perform regular safety inspections and implement corrective action as required.
Interpret drawings and specifications to ensure projects are completed in strict accordance with company standards and design/contract requirements.
Manage and maintain tools, equipment, and materials necessary for site activities.
Train and mentor construction workers, providing guidance on best practices, techniques, and safety procedures.
Maintain accurate daily work logs documenting construction activities, hours and materials used.
Attendance of job site scheduling and health & safety meetings.
Follow up on warranty issues and facilitates project completion.
Field work assistance as required.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Foreman or Lead Hand role.
Ability to effectively communicate and lead a team and their work for daily success.
Have a clear understanding of workplace safety and advocate for quality workmanship.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet and adhere to deadlines and work under strict time constraints.
Valid Ontario Driver’s License.
Proficient in the English language (written and oral) with strong inter-personal and communication skills.
Exposure to work in the year-round construction environment.

Skills considered to be an asset:

Civil and/or Mechanical construction related experience.
Experience with skid steer loaders, telehandlers, and mini excavators.
Knowledge of water treatment and/or wastewater treatment facility construction.
Post-Secondary Education/College Diploma - Civil or Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
Additional certification or training in construction management or related field
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Project), SharePoint and Adobe/Bluebeam.
