Opening soon in the heart of Norwood, Fieldstone Cafe & Bakery is a brand-new neighborhood destination set inside one of the town’s oldest, most beautiful heritage stone buildings. We are building a vibrant, welcoming space that combines cozy sit-down dining and busy takeout with a scratch-made bakery counter and a premium ice cream bar. As a founding member of our team, you will help us bring this beautiful historic space to life and establish a warm, community-focused gathering place. We are seeking reliable and passionate Cooks to join our kitchen team as we prepare for our grand opening.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and executing our sit-down and takeout breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Working inside our beautiful historic building, you will ensure every hot meal, sandwich, and cafe special is prepared to perfection, beautifully presented, and served fresh. The ideal candidate works well under pressure, maintains a clean workstation, and takes pride in consistent culinary quality. We have both part-time and full-time hours available with a competitive starting wage negotiable based on experience.

Core Responsibilities

Line Cooking & Prep: Prepare and cook menu items to order for both sit-down dining and takeout, following established recipes and presentation standards.
Station Setup & Inventory: Set up the line before service, chop vegetables, portion proteins, and ensure all ingredients are fresh and fully stocked.
Kitchen Efficiency: Multitask efficiently during peak rush hours to ensure fast ticket times without sacrificing food quality.
Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation; follow all food safety, handling, and deep-cleaning protocols. Assisting in dishwashing as needed.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with cafe servers to coordinate orders and ensure a seamless, positive experience for our guests.

Requirements & Qualifications

Line Cook Experience: Proven experience working as a short-order cook, line cook, or prep cook in a cafe or restaurant setting.
Speed & Stamina: Ability to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, work safely around hot surfaces, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: Consistency in food preparation, portion sizes, plating aesthetic, and temperature control.
Schedule Flexibility: Reliability to work a shifting schedule that includes daytime hours, weekends, and holidays.
Certification: A Food Handlers Certification is preferred (or a willingness to obtain one upon hire).
