Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is currently recruiting the following challenging position to join our operations team:

Instrumentation Technician (12-month Fixed-Term)

Alamos Gold is a Canadian-based gold producer with a long-term track record of creating value for all stakeholders through solid financial performance, low-cost production growth, and a company-wide commitment to social responsibility and environmental stewardship. We currently operate three mines – two in Canada and one in Mexico – and we have a strong portfolio of development stage projects, including the Lynn Lake Project and Island Gold Phase 3+ Expansion in Canada, and Puerto Del Aire Project in Mexico. Alamos also has an early-stage exploration project in Canada, the Qiqavik Gold Project. Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. This is a very exciting time at Young-Davidson, and we are searching for highly motivated and committed people to join our team!

Reporting to the Supervisor, E&I, the successful candidate will be responsible for successfully performing field maintenance of instrumentation devices.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, calibration, and maintenance of electronic process equipment;
Installation and Programming of IP Video Equipment;
Troubleshooting programming and technical issues;
Installation and maintenance of automated valves and flow meters;
Running cables and terminating field devices;
Preventative maintenance on a wide variety of devices and mechanical equipment; and
Other duties assigned by the Supervisor, E&I as required.

What You Bring to the Table

Completion of post-secondary education in instrumentation or equivalent experience;
Experience in field maintenance of instrumentation devices, DCS or PLC’s;
Previous experience in a gold milling environment would be an asset;
Electrical experience would be an asset;
Computer or network experience would be an asset;
Strong safety focus; and
Self-motivated ability to work alone and in a team environment.

7 days on, 7 days off – 12 hour shifts
