The position: Industrial Territory Manager

Territory: Winnipeg, Manitoba (travel required)

Reporting to: Regional Sales Manager

Salary: Base salary + commission.

For more than 50 years, Michener Allen Auctioneering been a major supplier of auctioneering services to a wide range of market interests across Western Canada.

As of October 2023, Michener Allen Auctioneering was acquired by Euro Auctions with auction facilities spanning four continents providing the company with a global reach while maintaining its local identity.

The Job

The primary focus of this role is to identify, secure, and consign heavy construction, agricultural, transportation, and industrial equipment for auction, building a strong pipeline of equipment ahead of each auction.
Build and maintain relationships with businesses across a wide range of industries, including construction, oil & gas, equipment sales and rental, mining, transportation, utilities, agriculture, and government.
Manage key customer accounts while maintaining accurate customer activity, opportunities, and pipeline information within the CRM system.
Take ownership of your assigned territory, developing new business opportunities while strengthening existing customer relationships to maximise consignments and achieve sales targets.
Develop and execute territory sales plans by gathering market intelligence, monitoring competitor activity, and identifying new opportunities to grow equipment consignments.
Identify prospective customers, research their equipment disposal needs, and present tailored auction solutions that demonstrate the value of selling through our auctions.
Travel throughout your assigned territory to meet customers, build long-term relationships, inspect equipment, and identify future consignment opportunities.
Represent the company professionally at auctions, trade shows, customer events, and industry functions to strengthen relationships and generate new business.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A strong knowledge of heavy construction equipment, agricultural equipment, commercial vehicles, or the automotive industry, with an entrepreneurial mindset and passion for developing new business.
Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to identify opportunities and convert them into successful sales.
Proven experience generating new business through prospecting, networking, and consultative selling.
The confidence to promote the benefits of selling through auction and create opportunities for equipment consignments.
A self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently while managing your own territory.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships with customers.

Essential Requirements

Valid Driver's Licence.
Minimum of 4 years proven sales experience within the heavy construction equipment, agricultural equipment or commercial vehicles.
Strong knowledge of equipment such as excavators, backhoe loaders, skid steers, wheel loaders, telehandlers, compressors, generators, cranes, commercial trucks, pickups, RVs, and similar equipment.
Demonstrated success achieving sales and revenue targets through proactive business development and consultative selling.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Proficient using Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
